PHOENIX – September 2021 – Alanté®, an integrated virtual healthcare system launched in 2021, promotes Carrie Wheeler to Executive Director for Alanté® Health and Primary Care Operations.  Before accepting this position, she was the Regional Director of Quality Assurance and part of the Clinical Operations Team for Santé™.

Carrie was originally drawn to healthcare because of the potential to positively affect so many lives. Her skill set spans a broad spectrum of areas from providing direct care as an occupational therapist in home health, outpatient therapy, and skilled nursing to being a clinical educator, Medicare compliance auditor, as well as a quality assurance and improvement specialist.

She has 15-plus years of experience in the healthcare industry with a special focus on post-acute care.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from South Dakota State University, followed by a Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine and a doctorate in occupational therapy. Her educational background provides a thorough clinical and operational perspective on the post-acute care industry, including chronic and acute care transitions.  Dedicated to process improvement and management, she believes that a key component of success is building strong relationships internally and in the community to foster collaboration at every level.

Carrie’s work is guided by the following quote: “In healthcare we often see people when they are at their lowest.  Giving the patient what they need at that moment matters; we are the steady constant in their lives. No matter where they are—at home or in a care facility or hospital.”
